Selouane Nouvelle Middle School, together with the parents' association, held a ceremony honouring top students of the first semester of the 2018/2019 school year, coinciding with International Women's Day.
The event on Saturday 9 March was attended by local authorities, representatives of the Selouane municipality, association members and guests.
It opened with a welcome address and a historical overview of women, followed by Quranic verses and the national anthem, then a speech by headteacher Jamila El Abed.
Artistic performances, poems and plays followed before prizes were handed to top students from the three levels, closing with thanks and a tea reception.
