Work on the road section linking the town of Driouch to the Nador West Med port has passed 95 percent completion.
The 27-kilometre stretch connects National Road 2 with National Road 16 and lies only about 8 kilometres from the port complex.
Efforts are now focused on horizontal and vertical signage and on finishing technical equipment ahead of opening.
The second section, 40 kilometres long between National Road 2 and Saqa, is still in its early stages at around 8 percent completion.
The project's total cost stands at about 7.8 billion dirhams, carried out with Moroccan firms and engineering offices, involving the movement of some 11 million cubic metres of earth and 22 engineering structures.
