The city of Azghanghan hosted a ceremony honouring two young Quran memorisers, Ali El Moudni, 17, and Ayoub Ouldi, 13, who completed memorising the holy book.
Organised on the initiative of the Abdellah Ben Omar mosque, in coordination with Nador's local scientific council and the provincial delegation for Islamic affairs, the event aimed to promote a culture of care for the Quran.
A festive procession wound through the streets before recitations and speeches highlighting the role of Quranic schools and mosques in teaching values of moderation.
Imam Said Mahmoudi was also honoured for his work, and gifts were presented to the laureates.
