Police block wedding in Fnideq to avoid Azghanghan scenario

Security services in Fnideq on Tuesday evening prevented a wedding celebration planned at a function hall, in an operation coordinated with local authorities.
The move followed an earlier attempt to hold the same ceremony at a villa in the Al-Alian commune, which prompted authorities in the M'diq-Fnideq prefecture to halt preparations.
Although organisers had completed the legal procedures, security services opted for caution, amid controversy over weddings in Nador province that turned into displays of influence and money.
A heavy police presence was deployed around the hall, and authorities proposed moving the event to another licensed venue before dropping that option.
