Provincial security officers in Nador, acting on instructions from the security chief, raided a café on the road to Jbel Aaroui, near a fuel station and a Royal Gendarmerie judicial checkpoint, after reports of shisha and drug sales and the presence of minors and wanted individuals.
The operation led to the seizure of quantities of shisha and other narcotics and the arrest of eight people of both sexes and the café owner.
The investigation continues under the supervision of the prosecutor's office.
Local observers criticised the Gendarmerie's inaction despite the nearby checkpoint.
