The governor of Nador province, Jamal Chairaani, has launched administrative proceedings against three deputy mayors of the Selouane commune after irregularities were recorded against them based on reports by the authorities.
The Interior Ministry gave the green light to trigger the dismissal procedure.
The elected officials answered the governor's questions and appeared before the provincial committee.
Their file is expected to be referred to the administrative court in Oujda in the coming days.
A provincial committee visited Selouane on 8 January to investigate the issuing of administrative certificates, notably subdivision permits, to a particular party without consulting or obtaining delegation from the president.
These urban planning certificates have also implicated elected officials in other communes, including Ras El Ma and Iznan, while investigations continue elsewhere.
