The provincial office of the Independent Union of Public Sector Doctors in Nador held a consultative meeting on the project to move the provincial hospital to its new site in Selouane, with representatives of the Health Ministry and regional health officials.
The union notes the project is part of the restructuring of the health system in the Oriental, but warns that the new site is relatively far from densely populated areas, especially Nador, which could limit access to care, particularly in emergencies.
It also criticises weak road infrastructure and the single main access route.
It calls for keeping El Hassani hospital as a local facility, opening new roads, strengthening public transport and improving working conditions.
