Nador cleaning workers demand regularisation of their status

Workers of a company managing the cleaning sector in Nador held an extraordinary general assembly at the headquarters of the Moroccan Labour Union, with broad participation from various professional categories, to examine pending files and working conditions.
Demands topped the agenda, notably the regularisation of workers promoted to drivers who have performed those duties for more than two years without official status, a revision of the professional status of transport and logistics organisers to be registered as controllers, and a change in the tasks of maintenance teams.
Workers complained of a severe shortage of equipment and machinery and the poor condition of several waste collection trucks, stressing that these shortcomings directly harm the quality of services provided to residents.
The sector's general secretary criticised the company's failure to honour commitments made in earlier agreements, while the union's provincial secretary stressed that this complex and vital file requires the combined efforts of all parties, refusing to hold workers responsible for the service failures.
The meeting ended with workers reaffirming their attachment to their union framework and their unity in pursuing their demands.
