Official Denial of Hassani Hospital Closure in Nador

Official Denial of Hassani Hospital Closure in Nador
The regional directorate of health and social protection for the Oriental region denied reports circulating in media and on social platforms about the closure of the provincial Hassani hospital in Nador, stating that no official announcement has been made.
The new hospital in Selouane is part of third-generation hospital projects, and any transfer of services will be gradual and organised to ensure continuity of public service.
Civil, union and human rights actors nevertheless voiced concerns about access to care, especially emergency services.
A coordination meeting led to the creation of a committee to monitor the health situation in the province, rejecting any full closure of the Hassani hospital, which should remain a proximity facility.
The independent union of public-sector doctors proposes turning the new facility into a regional hospital.
