West Med Container Terminal, a subsidiary of Marsa Maroc and TIL, has announced the successful operational tests of the eastern terminal at Nador West Med port, following the docking of a trial vessel.
The step confirms the terminal's readiness to receive and handle its first commercial ships.
The preparation phase, spanning several months, covered fitting out the terminal, installing equipment, setting up operating systems and procedures, and recruiting and training teams.
These operations were completed ahead of the deadlines in the initial schedule.
The trial allowed teams to verify operations and coordination between departments under real conditions.
The results confirm the terminal can receive the world's largest container ships, strengthening the port's position as a strategic maritime transport platform in the Mediterranean.
