The public prosecutor's office in Al Hoceima announced that a police operation on September 7, 2026, to arrest a man wanted nationally for drug trafficking, illegal immigration, and attempted murder, turned into an armed confrontation.
The suspect used a hunting rifle, killing a police officer and injuring two gendarmes and a civilian.
The suspect was also wounded in the leg.
During the siege of the suspect in a house, individuals intervened with two cars and fired at police.
The main suspect and two others were arrested.
A hunting rifle and a drone were seized.
The investigation is ongoing.
