The King's Attorney General at the Court of Appeal in Al Hoceima issued an official statement detailing a security operation on September 7, which resulted in the death of a police officer and injuries to two gendarmes and a civilian.
The operation aimed to arrest a nationally wanted individual suspected of drug trafficking, forming a criminal gang, organizing illegal immigration, and attempted murder.
During the arrest attempt, the suspect opened fire with a hunting rifle, fatally wounding the officer and injuring the others.
Other gang members tried to obstruct the operation, but security forces managed to arrest the main suspect and two accomplices.
A rifle and a drone were seized.
The prosecution denied rumors circulating on social media, emphasizing that the operation is part of the fight against crime.
