Moroccan Community in Romania Suffers from Driver's License Exchange Delay for Over a Year
Members of the Moroccan community residing in Romania are suffering from the blockage of the procedure to exchange Moroccan driver's licenses for Romanian ones for over a year and a half, with more than 400 pending files.
The delay is attributed, according to those affected, to the verification of the authenticity of Moroccan licenses by the competent authorities.
The issue was raised in the Moroccan Parliament through a written question by MP Omar Annan.
The ministry cited an unusual influx of applications from non-residents in Romania and the opening of contacts with Romanian authorities.
Those affected demand a distinction between these cases and the files of Moroccans legally residing in Romania, stressing that the delay threatens their professional interests, especially those working in transport, delivery, and services.
