The National Seismic Monitoring and Alert Network, part of Morocco's National Institute of Geophysics, announced the recording of an earthquake of magnitude 4.1 on the Richter scale on Friday morning in Driouch province.
The quake occurred at 6:54:56 GMT, at a depth of 6 kilometers, at latitude 35.627 degrees north and longitude 3.563 degrees west, off the coast of Driouch province.
No immediate reports of damage or casualties were made.
This quake is part of frequent seismic activity in the region, which lies in a geologically active area.
