The SOS Children's Villages association in Imzouren organized a visit on Thursday to the Historical Memory Space of Resistance and Liberation in Al Hoceima for the association's children, on the occasion of the anniversary of the Revolution of the King and the People and Youth Day.
The visit included educational and cultural activities, including a simplified presentation on the history of the Moroccan resistance, a reading workshop at the space's library, and a documentary screening on the Rif's resistance against Spanish colonialism.
The provincial delegate of the High Commission for Former Resistants, Abdelilah Cheikhi, explained that the activities also included a workshop to color the national flag and distribution of gifts, to raise children's awareness of the sacrifices of ancestors.
For her part, educator Yousra El Ghayouane praised the visit, stressing that it aims to introduce children to the historical heritage and instill love for the homeland.
The SOS Children's Village Imzouren, under the honorary presidency of Princess Lalla Hasnaa, has been supporting children for 40 years through programs of protection, prevention, and integration.
