West Med Container Terminal (WMCT), the concessionaire of the East terminal of Nador West Med port, has signed a long-term loan of €196.7 million with a consortium of Moroccan banks.
The consortium includes Attijariwafa Bank as lead coordinator, and the Banque Centrale Populaire Group and Bank of Africa Group as coordinators.
The loan, with a 15-year term, is intended to partially finance the construction costs of the first phase of the terminal, with a total investment of approximately €253 million.
This operation is part of the financing plan for the East terminal project, whose operation is scheduled for the last quarter of 2026.
The project aims to strengthen the port's capacity and support economic development in Morocco's eastern region.
