MP Mohammadi Touhtouh has announced his departure from the National Rally of Independents (RNI) party and his joining the Istiqlal Party in the province of Nador, a few weeks before the upcoming legislative elections.
He justified his decision by a difficult organizational and political climate within the RNI, speaking of a campaign of narrow personal score-settling at the level of the Oriental region.
He also relinquished all his party and mandate responsibilities.
He recalled his career within the RNI, including his presidency of the Bouarg commune and his membership in parliament, while thanking the party leaders and the late Ahmed El Mahouti.
He described Istiqlal as the starting point of his political career, stating that this return aligns with his convictions.
He has obtained the party's nomination for the elections.
This shift raises questions about his ability to maintain his electoral presence and the impact on the distribution of votes in the constituency.
