Japanese Company Equips Nador Port Quays with Protection Systems
The Japanese company Shibata Fender Team was chosen to design and supply marine protection systems for the quays of the Nador West Med port, which is expected to begin operations in the fourth quarter of this year.
The project involves equipping approximately 1,520 meters of quays with advanced protection systems and bollards for mooring ships, distributed across four main stations.
The container terminal was equipped with 120 conical protection systems and 208 bollards with a capacity of 200 tons each.
The Ro-Ro quay was equipped with five protection systems and three bollards, and the dry bulk terminal with 19 protection systems and 19 bollards.
The fuel quays were equipped with 30 protection systems, and the service basin with 96 defense systems and 39 bollards.
The company participated in coordinating technical aspects and provided technical support during installation.
Project investments total 51 billion dirhams, and capacity will be 5 million containers and 35 million tons of goods.
The project will also include industrial and logistics zones covering 700 hectares and an energy center with Morocco's first LNG terminal.
