The Nador West Med port, located on the Mediterranean Sea, is becoming a strategic hub for energy and economy in Morocco.
The project includes the country's first LNG terminal with an annual capacity of 5 billion cubic meters, as well as a fuel station.
The port's annual capacity is 5 million containers and 35 million tons of goods, with plans to increase to 12 million containers and 15 million tons of liquid goods.
Basic infrastructure is complete, including 5.4 kilometers of breakwaters and 4 kilometers of quays.
Investments total 51 billion dirhams ($5.6 billion), including 20 billion dirhams in private investment.
The port is expected to begin operations in the fourth quarter of this year, with the development of industrial and logistics zones covering 700 hectares.
The project aims to strengthen energy sovereignty and diversify gas supply sources, including Qatar, the United States, and Nigeria.
