The city of Nador hosted a scientific symposium as part of the second edition of the international theater festival, dedicated to celebrating the intellectual and critical work of Dr.
Jamil Hamdaoui, one of the most prominent researchers in Moroccan and Amazigh theater.
Researchers and critics participated in the symposium, presenting multiple readings of his experience, including Mohand Amhaour, Aissa Dadoui, Abdelouahed Arjouni and Mohamed Hamdaoui.
The speakers highlighted that Hamdaoui is among the first to establish a scientific writing on Amazigh theater, contributing to documenting its memory and tracking its evolution, while adopting modern critical approaches such as micro-narrative and semiotics.
His work extends to Amazigh literature, literary criticism, linguistics and education, with dozens of books and hundreds of articles.
They also mentioned his interest in children's theater, scenography and analysis of theatrical performance, as well as the rooting of modern approaches in reading texts.
Attendees considered his work an important scientific and cultural archive for researchers, and that his works will remain an essential reference for understanding the evolution of theatrical writing in Morocco.
