Benkirane in Nador: reform opponents want to keep people away from politics
Abdelilah Benkirane, secretary-general of the Justice and Development Party, said at a rally in Nador that reform opponents want to keep people away from politics to reduce voter turnout and make it easier to manipulate them.
He added that some use power to enrich themselves, citing the head of government, and accused him of conspiring with others to raise fuel prices to compensate for what they took from the compensation fund, citing a parliamentary report on illegal profits exceeding 17 billion dirhams.
He stressed that this situation destroys the national economy, calling for the government's departure, and said the main problem lies in the party of economic and political control.
He also emphasized the lack of good governance and the will to monopolize wealth, arguing that citizens want reasonableness in administration, investment, education, and health, and that the basis for all this is trust, communication, and frankness, which the government does not provide.
