900 million dirhams to expand Nador's corniche and rehabilitate its historic center
Moroccan Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit announced an investment program of 900 million dirhams to expand the corniche of Nador and rehabilitate its historic center "DAMIER", as part of projects to improve infrastructure and boost the city's attractiveness.
He also revealed a partnership of 40 million dirhams to reuse treated water from the pumping stations in Nador and Beni Ensar for irrigating green spaces, co-financed by the ministry and the Marchica Lagoon Development Agency.
The minister said inspections revealed deterioration on the corniche, including green spaces, restrooms, and sports fields, requiring a broad meeting in June 2025.
The agency now uses tanker trucks with treated water due to drought, and coordination continues to ensure the sustainability of facilities.
