Nador West Med port leads industrial transformation in the Oriental region
The Nador West Med port is at the heart of a major economic transformation in the Oriental region, which is beginning to attract significant foreign investment.
Amine Fatimi, president of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises for the Oriental region, stated that this economic boom is due to the royal vision launched with the speech of March 18, 2003, which initiated structuring projects in highways, airports, and ports.
He mentioned the establishment of a Chinese company specialized in manufacturing wind turbine blades in the region, which has created more than 2,000 jobs and whose production is destined for global markets, as well as another industrial project for tire manufacturing expected to create more than 1,500 additional jobs.
He added that the private sector views these projects very positively, as they contribute to economically opening up the region and transforming it into a competitive space.
This dynamic coincides with the fifth edition of the 'Sustainable Nador' event, organized under the theme 'Nador West Med port in the service of foreign trade,' which aims to highlight the economic assets of the province and attract investments.
Mohamed Bahri, director of the event, explained that the port represents a long-term royal project, launched to become a global logistics and economic hub, and that the focus is on highlighting the economic and logistical roles of the port.
