The provincial authority chaired a meeting of the follow-up committee on Friday, May 22, 2026, dedicated to the progress of works and projects related to the Nador West Med port.
Attendees included representatives from Nador West Med, the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water, Marsa Maroc, the National Ports Agency, the regional multi-service company, the National Railways Office, the National Motorway Company of Morocco, as well as the Ministries of Equipment and Industry and Trade.
The meeting stressed the strategic importance of the project as a royal undertaking and a driver of economic and logistical development, emphasizing the start of its operation before the end of 2026.
Discussions covered priority issues such as securing land, strengthening road, rail, and highway connections, and electricity supply.
A roadmap for training and employment was presented, along with measures for rehabilitating the surrounding area, including housing supply and services.
