Constitutional Court annuls election of two MPs in Driouch

The Constitutional Court annulled the election of two members of the House of Representatives for the local constituency of Driouch following the 8 September 2021 vote, and ordered by-elections for both seats.
For the first lawmaker, the Court found that his resignation from a national party post had been submitted to an incompetent body, and that running under another party amounted to conduct incompatible with responsible political participation.
For the second, the ruling rested on incidents in which polling stations in Tafersit and Afrni were stormed and ballot boxes filled in favour of his list, acts the Court deemed a breach of the transparency and integrity of the vote that affected its outcome.
