Al Hoceima port fish landings fall 15% in first half of 2026

Landings of coastal and artisanal fishing at Al Hoceima port fell 15% in the first half of 2026 to 1,078 tonnes, compared with the same period in 2025.
The decline hit market value, which dropped 16% to 60.99 million dirhams, down from 72.42 million a year earlier.
Crustaceans were the only bright spot, with volumes up 70% to 52 tonnes and revenue above 3.51 million dirhams.
Molluscs, the port's heaviest category, fell 18% in quantity and 21% in value, while pelagic fish declined 27%.
Nationally, marketed quantities slipped 6% to 367,184 tonnes, but their value rose 2% to more than 4.91 billion dirhams.
