The 12th edition of the Mediterranean Festival opened on Friday evening, 31 July, on the Nador seafront, organised by the Mediterranean Association for Sustainable Development in partnership with the province and the provincial and municipal councils, under the slogan "Nador meets the world", before large crowds.
The association's president opened the evening with a welcome speech, stressing that the festival has become an annual fixture that strengthens the province's cultural and tourist appeal and a meeting point with the Moroccan diaspora, alongside Operation Marhaba 2026.
Artist Saïd Oussila opened the performances with his Amazigh songs, followed by the "Gnaoua Vision" project, before Moroccan rap star Muslim closed the first night to an enthusiastic audience.
The organisers also honoured sports official Rachid El Mahi for his contribution to sport in the province and for leading the Hilal Nador women's team to promotion to the national first division.
Events run until 2 August with a varied programme.
