Nador rights groups demand urgent action over migration deaths

The Nador branch of the Moroccan Human Rights Association has voiced alarm over continuing deaths in irregular migration towards Melilla, including young people and children, calling them a violation of the right to life and dignity.
It says it wrote to the foreign and interior ministries, the provincial governor and the Spanish consul, receiving a reply only from the consul.
It reports requests for help from families who lost contact with their children and condemns the burial in Melilla of an unidentified Moroccan youth without informing his family.
It demands a coordination mechanism with Spain to identify victims, simpler procedures for families, free repatriation of bodies and policies addressing migration's structural causes.
