Work on the Bni Azimane dam, located on the Oued Kert in Thlath Azlaf commune, 25 kilometres from Driouch, has reached 79% completion after the construction period was shortened by about a year.
Its reservoir capacity is 44 million cubic metres and its height is 70 metres.
It was built using a mixed technique combining concrete and compacted earth.
Work continues day and night, including concrete pouring, earthworks and the installation of drinking water and irrigation pipes.
The project aims to secure drinking water supply, support irrigation and reduce flood risks.
