Details of the arrest of Monaim of Selouane in Ajzana

The arrest of Naim Bouazati, known as Monaim of Selouane, on 10 June in Ajzana has caused widespread controversy in Nador, given his public movements since escaping from Nador's civil prison last March.
According to sources close to the investigation, the arrest was carried out by officers of the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance after his location was identified at a café in the Al Qalate tourist complex, where he was with another wanted individual.
After resisting, he suffered a head wound and was taken to the DGST headquarters and then to the judicial police, where he was intensively questioned before being transferred to Hassani Hospital for stitches.
Monaim refused to name those who helped him escape or sheltered him, and was referred on Friday 13 June to the public prosecutor for escape, pending other cases in Al Hoceima.
