Intense election campaign in Al Hoceima's rural villages

Rural communes in Al Hoceima province are experiencing an intense election campaign just days before the legislative vote set for 23 September.
Party activists are fanning out across the mountainous areas, where the countryside forms an important electoral reservoir.
The dynamic is especially visible in the commune of Isaguen, on regional road 509 linking Al Hoceima and Taounate, where dozens of activists move through streets covered in campaign posters.
Residents say they hope to place their trust in competent candidates, stressing the priority of developing infrastructure such as hospitals and roads.
Civil society figures are calling for young candidates able to defend the province's interests.
Philosophy professor Hassan Asouik describes the election as a civilisational milestone that allows popular sovereignty to be exercised through voting.
