Nador moves toward textile recycling hub
The Selouane industrial park is preparing to host Binase Recycling, which plans to invest 500 million dirhams in a textile waste recycling plant covering 10,000 square metres.
The project, expected to create hundreds of jobs, comes about four years after a scrap recycling plant opened in Beni Ansar.
It coincides with a study by UNIDO and an international institution on recycling the 83,000 tonnes of textile waste Morocco produces each year.
The plant will process local manufacturing offcuts and unsellable clothing, drawing on Nador's location and export prospects toward Africa.
