Dubai police arrested Moroccan Nasr Eddine Tarrahi, known as "Nadori", 38, after years of international pursuit.
He is among Belgium's most wanted fugitives for international cocaine trafficking: default convictions totalling 17 years in prison, plus fines and the confiscation of assets worth about five million euros.
Belgian authorities accuse him of leading a network that brought some 840 kilos of cocaine into Europe via Antwerp port in 2020.
The investigation relies on data from the encrypted platform Sky ECC.
Belgium awaits his extradition.
