The municipal council of Selouane held its ordinary February 2026 session chaired by its president Jamal Hamzaoui, with the city's pacha and most members present, to discuss 12 items on local governance.
The first item addressed the situation of the municipal abattoir, with a decision to send a three-member committee to meet the governor of Nador province to find solutions for its reopening.
The council also examined the situation of professional premises for young entrepreneurs at the business incubator.
Items on flood-prone areas, land acquisition for the provincial hospital road and the municipality's opening programme were postponed.
The council unanimously approved the allocation of the 2025 financial surplus and partnership agreements, and opted to keep direct management of household waste collection.
