Fifty Detainees Sent to Selouane Prison Over Melilla Border Unrest

Prosecutors at Nador courts have decided to pursue fifty people in detention following the unrest around the Melilla border crossing, ordering them held at Selouane local prison pending the completion of judicial proceedings.
The decision came after the detainees were presented to the prosecutor's office at the Court of First Instance and the Nador Court of Appeal, following their arrest over violence and clashes that required public forces to restore order.
The charges include destruction of public property, damage to bank branches and private property, and assaulting public security officers in the line of duty.
Prosecutors based the decision on preliminary investigation findings, deeming the seriousness of the alleged acts to warrant detention, while inquiries continue to establish all responsibilities.
