Authorities in Nador province have referred 50 detainees to the public prosecutor following the riots and clashes around the Melilla crossing.
The suspects were split between the Nador court of first instance and the appeal court, questioned and placed in custody.
The charges include destruction of public and private property, damage to bank branches and assaults on security forces.
Orders were issued for their detention in Selouane prison pending the investigation, as part of inquiries into attempts at irregular crossing in the area.
