Civil protection teams from the El Rouadi centre rescued a man in his twenties on Wednesday morning after he suffered a fracture in a sudden rockfall while rod fishing on Taoussart beach, in the commune of El Rouadi, Al Hoceima province.
The victim was with two other people when the accident happened, as a rock block fell on him and caused a fracture to his right leg.
After being alerted, Royal Gendarmerie officers and civil protection teams went to the scene, where they faced major difficulties because of rough seas and the rugged terrain of the rocky beach.
The injured man was rushed to the Mohammed VI regional hospital in Aït Youssef Ali for the necessary treatment, while none of his companions were hurt.
