14 lists compete for 4 seats in Al Hoceima legislative elections
The filing period for Morocco's legislative elections scheduled for September 23 has closed, revealing 14 lists competing in the Al Hoceima constituency for four seats in the House of Representatives.
Former MP Noureddine Moudian has decided not to run, while former officeholders and new faces are entering the race.
Key candidates include Mohamed El Hamouti (PAM), Karim Boutahiri (RNI), Abdelhak Amghar (USFP), Mohamed El Araj (MP), Mohamed Boudra (PPS), Mohamed El Hamoudani (Istiqlal), Hanane Maâroufi (PJD), Yassine El Fassi (FGD), and others.
Analysts say the outcome will depend less on parties' organizational strength than on candidates' personal standing, local networks, and ability to mobilize beyond their traditional party base.
