Exceptional promotion for fallen officer Hamza Zaaam after death in Al Hoceima security operation

The Director General of National Security and Territorial Control decided to grant an exceptional promotion to security officer Hamza Zaaam, who died from injuries sustained during a security operation to arrest a wanted person in the Imzouren area, Al Hoceima province.
Zaaam worked in the anti-gang brigade of the regional security of Al Hoceima and was wounded by a gunshot from a hunting rifle during a joint operation with the Royal Gendarmerie.
The suspect, aged 25, was the subject of 20 national arrest warrants for suspected involvement in serious crimes.
He offered violent resistance and opened fire, seriously wounding Zaaam, who later died, and injuring a technician.
Security forces neutralized the danger and arrested the suspect, who is now under judicial investigation supervised by the public prosecutor.
