Two people died on Sunday in the crash of a small private plane shortly after takeoff from Cherif El Idrissi airport in Al Hoceima.
The aircraft, coming from Montpellier and bound for Tit Mellil airport in Casablanca, had stopped in Al Hoceima before crashing near the airport.
The victims, of foreign nationality, were the pilot and a female passenger.
Local authorities, civil protection and security services rushed to the scene and transferred the injured to the Mohammed VI regional hospital, where their deaths were confirmed.
The cause of the accident remains unknown, and technical investigations are underway.
