The Nador West Med port project is one of the major projects the Kingdom is betting on to strengthen its position in international trade.
It aims to create a modern port infrastructure capable of handling millions of containers and tons of goods annually, thus contributing to the creation of a free industrial and logistics zone in Betoya and attracting foreign investment.
The project is designed in phases, with the first phase including a main breakwater of 4,200 meters and a container terminal with a quay of 1,520 meters and a depth of 18 meters.
It also includes facilities for hydrocarbons, coal, and various goods.
Once completed, the port will have a capacity of 3 million containers per year, expandable to 5 million.
The project benefits from clear governance through a public company responsible for development and management, in partnership with national public institutions.
The project aims to achieve economic and social development in the Oriental region and strengthen Morocco's integration into global production chains.
