Two gendarmes injured in armed clash with drug traffickers in Aït Maït

In the commune of Aït Maït, Driouch province, a security operation during Sunday night escalated into an armed confrontation that left two Royal Gendarmerie officers injured.
The operation aimed to arrest a suspect wanted nationally for hard drug trafficking.
The man, accompanied by two others, fled and opened fire on the officers.
The injured were taken to the provincial hospital.
Additional units from the regional gendarmerie command in Nador were deployed to comb the area and track down the fugitives, under the supervision of the public prosecutor's office.
