Ahead of the 23 September 2026 legislative elections, Nador constituency is seeing a reshuffle of the candidate map compared to 2021.
Several former winners have left their parties, while others are running under new labels.
The competition centers on Halim Foutat (RNI), Mohamed El Mounni (PAM), Mohamed Aberkane (USFP), and Mahammadi Touhtouh, now with Istiqlal.
Mohamed Boudou (MP) could also have an impact.
In 2021, Touhtouh topped the results for RNI, Rafik Majit won for PAM, Aberkane for USFP, and Mohamed Taybi for Istiqlal.
Now, Foutat and El Mounni rely on local networks, while Touhtouh tries to keep his voter base.
Aberkane benefits from continuity.
The most likely scenario gives the four seats to RNI, PAM, USFP, and Istiqlal, but the fourth seat is contested between the Istiqlal candidate and Touhtouh, with a possible surprise from Boudou.
The outcome depends on the transfer of votes from old candidates to their successors.
