Five-year sentence for former Hilal Nador president
The competent court issued a final ruling on 25 May 2026 in case No.
480, convicting Mustapha H., former president of Hilal Nador, of spreading false claims and facts intended to harm people's private lives and reputations, and of involvement in fraud after the charge was reclassified.
He was sentenced to five years in prison and a fine of 2,000 dirhams, with costs and enforcement measures.
The case drew wide interest given the nature of the charges linked to defamation and the publication of claims the court deemed false and invasive of privacy, as well as its link to fraud.
The ruling prompted many reactions in local and sporting circles in Nador, as the defendant had previously run a well-known club in the area.
